Founded in 2010, ScandiDerma originated as a research project in Tromsø, Norway, aiming to identify some of the strongest and most potent protection mechanisms from the harsh Arctic nature.

In 2019 ScandiDerma became a partner of the EU consortium InncoCells who have been granted an EUR 8 million fund to research and develop new skincare ingredient innovations for the global market sustainable sourced from potent plant extracts.
